Petersham Villa
In the heart of Richmond within the Petersham conservation area, and part of the English heritage listed view from Richmond hill, END Studio successfully received permission to demolish an outdated bungalow built in the 70s, and rebuild on the same plot a much larger modern house, that compliments the existing vernacular, proportions and materials.
This was achieved for a strategic approach to planning, making a number of application, and eventually arguing that the entire property needed to be demolished to deliver an energy efficient home for the new owners. We had to navigate through the various planning obstacles, in particular dealing with light pollution issues from Richmond hill, which is an English Heritage protected view.
